Nestled beside Stringers Creek, this scenic camping area offers peaceful unpowered sites surrounded by natural beauty. In the late 1800s and early 1900s, the valley was home to Chinese market gardens that helped sustain the bustling gold mining town of Walhalla during the era of the Victorian gold rush.
Check in is from 10:00am-4:00pm daily.

Please note: 4-wheel drive is recommended for the Northern part of the Chinese Gardens Campgrounds.
An alternative campsite is available 200 metres south of the Chinese Campgrounds, on the left. This is signed as “North Gardens Camping Area” and is free to use. No bookings required. Please note: while toilets are available, there are no showers at the North Gardens campground.
